FERRIBY MARINE was formed in 1990 as a Partnership by two Master Mariners to provide a broad range of Consultancy, Training and Assessment Services to the Marine Industry.

The Company has, from its inception, been involved in Quality Assurance, Safety and Environmental Management Systems Consultancy, Training, Auditing and Assessment and later on Marine Surveying.

Early in 1991 Captain Graham Botterill (Managing Director) was appointed Specialist Advisor to the House of Lords Select Committee on Science and Technology during their Inquiry into “Ship Safety and Design”. Resulting from this the Company was engaged by the International Chamber of Shipping and the International Shipping Federation to produce the “Guidelines on the Uniform Application of the IMO International

Safety Management (ISM) Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention”, which is now mandatory.

Ferriby Marines’ Consultants are used by many of the major UKAS Certifying Registration Bodies for the Assessment of Companies wishing to gain ISO International Certification.

In addition to Special Consultancy Projects, Condition Surveys of ships are carried out on behalf of Underwriters and Protection and Indemnity Associations. The Company is called upon as Expert Witness for Legal Cases that are heard in the Admiralty Courts and also assist in Cases of Arbitration. The Company also offer Ship Broking, Ship Management, Port Management and Superintendency Project Services.

The Company have successfully assisted over 3000 Companies worldwide to achieve QA (ISO 9001:2000), Safety Management (ISM Code), Environmental Certification ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 and also ISPS Code.

Ferriby Marine have also branched out into the Non-maritime Industry for all the Services we offer and we are now established world wide services from our offices in the UK, Singapore, Australia, Philippines, Canada, China & Panama.

Ferriby Marine presents a whole range of IRCA Registered Training Courses worldwide in addition to specially designed “In-house” Courses for a wide variety of Companies.
